These are the most annoying titles that i want, simply because firstly they are doable, but at huge time and monetary costs, and secondaly they actually offere a benifit to gameplay now, making them even more desirable to a title chaser like me.
Like many of you I have my main character Calisto chasing all the titles, so she has both of these at the moment inbetween level 2 and 3, while my other 9 characters have very little,
My overall aim is to get as many titles on my charcters, but primarily on Calisto, pre factions without survivor, and my ritualist with survivor.
As these titles are set up now I can't aim for them on both these charcters, let alone the other 8.
Therefore i love this idea,
/signed for account based
Don't like the increse in any way of the requirement though as that makes it even harder and its hard enough now.
I understand why these aren't account based, but with their inclusion in lockpicking and salvage their is a good argument to make them account based now

/signed for account wide, and also increasing the requirement, it would just be too easy to get the highest rank .. (i'm not really a chest-runner and i'd have like r4-5 already)

Dedicated chestrunners (like me) would absolutely hate having to grind more and more again to reach the same level they had. so /notsigned to taking away achievements and bonuses already earned.
Making the title account-wide would cheapen the lower levels of the title, but wouldn't hurt those who opened only on one character. It would be an extra bonus for those who did it on multiple chars, they paid for the keys and spend the same time so they deserve the title just aswell.
Making the title account-wide also doesn't make the max level easier to get at all. Anybody who was going for the title did it mostly on one char, so the extra few or even few hundreds (about 150 on other chars in my case) won't really matter.
And wisdom title... this has one more reason to be account wide, it's the annoying need of relogging and transfering golds to the wisdom char to id them not to have the ids wasted. Making it account-wide wouldn't hurt neither the title nor anybody who worked for it, no real change except for extra convenience.
The only real change making those both titles would make would be their effect on Kind of the Big Deal track, but it would be a good change, because, in the first place, the KaoBD *should be account-based* aswell! (count all unique maxed titles on the account)

/signed for this version
It would encourage people to actually play more than one character, because opening chests wouldn´t seem as such a waste with "secondary" characters :-)

Lol yeah, it DOES seem like Anet likes to nerf stuff just to see the reaction...sometimes i think they nerf things because they havn't nerfed something in a while.
i'll /sign for account based but what if...instead of increasing the amount of chests you need per rank, they just added more ranks?
That sounds like a better solution to me...

The only negative side effect I see to making it account based, is the way those titles effect drops and salvaging chances.
Making it account based, would obviously make it a much easier title to achieve. The result would then be alot more players with the title at high levels or maxed out.
Then that results in people with higher % chances of better drops and higher % of salvaging good stuff!
I think it would actually incourage farming, which isnt a great thing.
How-ever I wouldnt mind it being made account based.

The thing is.
Most people identifies all th gold items with the same character to 'concentrate' the title points.
That's annoying. A bother, unnecessary.
For treasure I would do that, add one rank and make it account wide, an extra +3% would allow up to 95% salvage instead of 92%. We do like round number, don't we?
For wisdom I would simply make it account wide, with no more ranks, we already identify all gold ones items with the same character.

It may have to be tweaked, but I think ANet can make it work if they want it to.

I would love it to be account wide with no increase in requirements, but c'mon - get serious. This is really just a big wet kiss for everyone by making the final titles a lot easer to achieve with an instant boost in achievement with no additional effort. What is the upside to Anet, who want to keep the game playable for as long as possible, to making the grinding endgame easier to max?
The original recommended solution was much more realistic, however, as dedicated chest runners have pointed out, this is absolutely unfair to them.
I hate to say it, but unless I hear a better idea, I have to conclude we're stuck with the current system.
Anet should have made Wisdom/Treasure Hunting account based in the beginning. Since they didn't, it's not really fair to change it now.
